In this day and age there are hundreds of products available for you to choose for your new kitchen, from door finishes and bench top materials to drawer hardware and handles, it can all get very confusing. We have put together some information on some of the more popular options for your kitchen to help you understand the differences between each one so you can make an informed choice on your materials and also to help us understand what you want, allowing us to give you an accurate on the mark quote.

Doors

Painted

Painted doors are usually made up of an 18mm thick moisture resistant Medium Density Fibre Board (MDF) and coated with a 2 pac polyurethane paint in the colour of your choice. Because its a paint, it means that you can pick any colour you could imagine. You can also pick the finish which ranges from a satin to a super high gloss finish. With a painted door you can add a touch of elegance to your home that will never grow old.

Laminated

Laminated doors are made up of 16mm moisture resistant MDF board and are coated each side with a melamine surface and edged with a PVC tape in either 1mm or 2 mm thick making it a very durable hard wearing door. There is an extensive range of colours to choose from. Whether it be whites or creams, bright colours or dark, even timber grains, there is sure to be a colour to suit your tastes.

Vinyl

Vinyl doors are made using a process called vacuum forming. The door is made using MDF board and is then placed into a press and covered with vinyl. The end result is a durable hard wearing door with clean lines that will add a touch of class to your new kitchen. With a large range of colours, edge and face profiles available there is sure to be something that will take your fancy.

Solid Timber

The timeless style of solid timber will never grow old. With the uniqueness of the natural solid timber doors you can be assured that your kitchen will be like no other. These doors can be finished with a few different methods, including hard wearing lacquer from a satin to a full gloss, stained or just simply oiled. Bench Tops

When you choose your bench top, you want to be assured that you are getting a durable long lasting surface at the same time something that will compliment your selection of doors and design.

Granite

Manufactured Stone

Corian

This versatile product can be easily moulded and shaped with the advantage of having no visible joins while still being able to withstand the toughest day to day use of the kitchen. Laminated

With hundreds of different colours to choose from, including imitation granites, there is sure to be a colour that will suit your home. The traditional laminated top is made up using a 33mm or 40mm sub straight which is then covered with your choice of laminate. Laminate is a hard wearing surface which can be easily cleaned and maintained for a long life. Postforming can be achieved with laminate giving you options of full bull nosed or "D" roll edges with tight rounds making a seamless finish to the edge of your top. Or you might opt for the sharp clean look of a square edge, the choice is yours!
